Helen Wilson Hawley

Helen Wilson Hawley, 90, of 110 Harding Ave. died Sunday at Williamstown Commons, where she was admitted Friday. Born in North Adams on Jan. 10, 1913, daughter of Byrde L. and Margaret Reilly Newell, she graduated from Drury High School in 1930 and from the former North Adams State Teachers College in 1934 as a member of its first degree class. She was employed as a permanent substitute teacher after her marriage. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of several clubs and organizations. She also served as regent of the former Fort Massachusetts chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for several years. Her first husband, Paul C. Wilson, and her husband, C. Wesley Hawley, are both deceased. She leaves a stepson, Paul C. Wilson of Easton, Md., and a stepdaughter, Bess W. Henderson of Nashville, Tenn.
