John B. Tonlino Jr

John B. Tonlino Jr., 72, of 1598 Monterey Road died yesterday at home. Born in Lee on May 28, 1931, son of John B. Tonlino Sr. and Evelyn Sour Tonlino, he was educated in local schools. Mr. Tonlino was the owner of Johnny’s Used Cars and Parts, which he opened in Lee in 1951 and moved to Otis three years later. He had first worked for Rising Paper Co. in Great Barrington. He was a member of the Lee Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting gas engines and antique cars. He and his wife, the former Anna M. Rice, were married Nov. 8, 1952. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, John B. Tonlino III of Otis; a daughter, Nancy M. Curtin of Otis; a brother, James Tonlino of Westfield; a sister, Alice Stall of Spring Hope, N.C., and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for John B. Tonlino Jr. of Otis, who died Aug. 9, 2003, will be conducted Tuesday at 10 at Otis Cemetery by the Rev. Charles F. Young, chaplain for HospiceCare. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. He leaves his loving grandchildren, Kristen Curtin and Jake and Luke Tonlino; his son-in-law, Dennis Curtin, and his daughter-in-law, Kimberley Tonlino.
