Alice D. Senecal

Alice D. Senecal, 89, formerly of 873 East Road, died Thursday at North Adams Commons, where she had resided since November 2002. Born in Champlain, N.Y., on Oct. 24, 1913, daughter of Napolean and Emeline Hebert Deso, she moved to North Adams in 1920. She attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School and graduated from the former Notre Dame Classical School. She also attended the former Bliss Business College. Mrs. Senecal was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. from 1930 until her retirement in 1975. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of the Sprague Electric Co. Quarter Century Club. She enjoyed hunting and gardening. Her husband, George H. Senecal, whom she married Jan. 13, 1934, died Nov. 29, 1976. Her son, George L. Senecal, died June 11, 1951. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Alice Deso Senecal will be Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at noon at AUGÉ-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11 until the time of the service. Mrs. Senecal leaves her brother-in-law, William F. Senecal of Clarksburg, and three sisters-in-law, Marie Trudeau, Lillian Senecal and Florence Senecal, all of North Adams; her longtime friend Emma Jobin of Stamford, Vt., and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in her memory to Elder Services of Berkshire County Inc. through the funeral home.
