Tessie Arline Longerato

Tessie Arline Longerato, 83, of East Center Street died yesterday at Timberlyn Heights Nursing & Alzheimer’s Center in Great Barrington, where she had resided for about two years. Born in Kearny, N.J., on Feb. 17, 1920, daughter of Marcel and Mary Krizak Pieklik, she moved to Housatonic as a child and attended local schools. Mrs. Longerato was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and enjoyed candlepin bowling, playing cards, dancing, cooking, knitting and camping. Her husband, Bruno Longerato, whom she married Jan. 25, 1941, died Nov. 6, 1998. She leaves a son, Robert Longerato of Lee; four daughters, Diane Bianco, Joan Tisdale and Ann Bona, all of Lee, and Linda Krell of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, William Pieklik of New Jersey; a sister, Mary Pastor of Stratford, Conn.; a nephew, Thomas Wheeler of Loveland, Colo., whom she raised; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Tessie Longerato will be Wednesday at 9:15 from KELLY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make donations to St. Mary’s School Library Fund in care of the funeral home.
