Beatrice R. Kelly

Beatrice R. Kelly, 81, of 110 Silver St. died Sunday at the Providence Care Center in Lenox. Born in Lee on Sept. 19, 1922, daughter of Angelo and Adele Gairdi Zerbato, she was educated in local schools. Mrs. Kelly was employed as a cook for 30 years at the former East Lee Steak House, retiring in 1987. During the 1940s, she worked at GE in Pittsfield. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking for friends and family get-togethers, and was known for her wedding cakes and Italian cookies. She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox. Her husband, Arnold G. Kelly Sr., whom she married Feb. 27, 1943, died April 1, 1996. She leaves three sons, Dennis E. Kelly, Richard J. Kelly and Arnold G. Kelly Jr., all of Lee; a daughter, Nancy A. Bates of Pittsfield; three brothers, Guido Zerbato and Nello Zerbato, both of Lee, and Olindo Zerbato of Housatonic; a sister, Mary Marzotto of West Stockbridge; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Beatrice Kelly will be Wednesday at 10:15 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, today, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Lee Regional Visiting Nurse Association in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Kelly leaves her grandchildren, Susan, Kelly, Michele, Matthew, Kimberly, Andrew, Patrick and T.J., and her great-grandchildren, Heather, Richard and Robert. She was predeceased by her loving grandson, James Hathaway, and her brother, Mario Zerbato.
