Mildred L. Laramee

Mildred L. Laramee, 90, formerly of 31 Commonwealth Ave., died Friday at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canaan, Conn. Born in Pittsfield on Mar ch 1, 1913, daughter of William and Josephine Hansen Hoffman, she attended local schools. She moved to Great Barrington in 1936. Mrs. Laramee and her husband, Fred H. Laramee, owned and operated the former Farshaw's Office Supply, Stationery and Gift Store on Main Street until their retirement in 1987. She was a former communicant of St. Peter's Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening, especially roses. She and her husband were married March 8, 1934, in Pittsfield. Mr. Laramee died Jan. 1, 1994. She leaves a daughter, Barbara Watson of Great Barrington, and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Mildred L. "Millie" Laramee, who died Oct. 3, 2003, will be conducted tomorrow, Oct. 7, at noon at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Daniel Papineau, MIC. The family will receive friends from 11 until the time of the service. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Millie's name may be made to Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, c/o the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She leaves her son-in-law, John M., and two grandchildren, Lynn and Glenn Watson. She was predeceased by three brothers, Lester, Ferman and William Hoffman and by a sister, Viola Barzowskas.
