Constance J. Keegan

Constance J. Keegan, 96, of 7 Meadow Lane, Housatonic, died yesterday at Providence Care Center in Lenox. Born in Pittsfield on May 8, 1907, daughter of James and Julia Marcel Keegan, she graduated from Pittsfield High School and Bridgewater State College and earned a master's degree in education from the former North Adams State College. Miss Keegan taught history and French at the former Central Junior High School in Pittsfield and was a guidance counselor at Pittsfield High School until retiring in 1975. She was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church, where she taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes. She leaves a nephew, William Keegan of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Constance J. Keegan, who died Oct. 19, 2003, will be celebrated tomorrow, Oct. 21, at 11 at Corpus Christi Church by the Rev. Anthony Jutt, pastor. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that expressions of sympathy in Constance's memory be made to the Corpus Christi Building Fund in care of the funeral home. She also leaves several grandnieces and grandnephews.
