Jeanette Skowron Augustyniak

Jeanette Skowron Augustyniak, 75, of Old Blandford Road, East Otis, died Thursday at Laurel Lake Center in Lee. Born in Worcester on Feb. 20, 1928, daughter of Pasquale and Antoinette Shiiavone Ascione, she moved to Springfield and was educated there. She moved to Otis in 1961. She had been employed by various restaurants in Otis, including the Knox Trail Inn, Cozy Spruce and the Fire House Diner. She was a former postmaster relief in East Otis. She was a member of the Russell VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed cooking, bird watching and flowers. Her first husband, Clifford Skowron, died in 1973. Her husband, Joseph Augustyniak, whom she married May 2, 1958, died in 1993. She leaves three sons, Clifford "Skip" Skowron of Stockbridge, Philip A. Skowron of Lee and John J. Augustyniak of Feeding Hills; a daughter, Patricia A. Hawley of Otis; a brother, Anthony Ascione of Springfield, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Jeanette Skowron Augustyniak will be conducted Tuesday at 10 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee by the Rev. Gary M. Dailey, pastor of St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in Otis Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Otis Ambulance Squad or the Lee Regional Visiting Nurses Association. She leaves her loving grandchildren, Marcie, A.J., Lee-Ann and Christopher. She was predeceased by two sisters, Martha Cabana and Chatherine Ascione.
