Dominic Joseph Blasi

Dominic Joseph Blasi, 79, of 42 Sperry Ave. died early yesterday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital, where he had been admitted Oct. 9. Born in North Adams on Nov. 28, 1923, son of Joseph and Marie A. Famina Blasi, he was a graduate of Drury High School. He also attended the former North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the South Pacific. Mr. Blasi was a self-employed accountant for many years. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. He was a member of the Dr. George L. Curran Post 996 VFW, and assisted in many charities. He leaves a brother, Joseph T. Blasi of North Adams, and two sisters, Lena B. Grillone and Rose Mellin, both of Williamstown. He also leaves his nephew and caregiver, Jon C. Blasi of North Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Dominic Joseph Blasi will be private and there will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Five sisters and brothers are deceased: Mary Bernard, Stella Hyer, Anne Marie Blasi, Philomena Rotolo and James Blasi.
