Robert A. Rupprecht

Robert A. Rupprecht, 70, of Main Road died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center. He was a selectman in the late 1970s. Born in Adams on Oct. 25, 1933, son of Arthur and Mary Falco Rupprecht, he attended Adams and North Adams schools and was a graduate of Drury High School. Mr. Rupprecht was employed by GE for 20 years. Before that, he was a mechanic at Mohawk's Garage and a driver for Mohawk Ambulance Service. He also worked at U.S. Gypsum in Cheshire and at the former Arnold Print Works in Adams. Following his retirement, he worked part time at Berkshire Fuels in Adams and was a driver for Berkshire Community Action Council. He enjoyed fishing and word-search puzzles. He and his wife, the former Ruth Johnston Rousseau, were married July 6, 1974, in Adams. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Michael Rupprecht of Bennington, Vt., and James Rupprecht of North Adams; three daughters, Laurie Wilson and Nanette Gould, both of Adams, and Monique "Midge" Fredline of Michigan City, Ind.; two stepsons, Kevin Rousseau of Windsor and Terry Rousseau of Savoy; a stepdaughter, Rebecca LaFlamme of Pittsfield; 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Robert A. Rupprecht will be held from Sovereign Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 2, with the Rev. William Plenge and the Rev. Kenneth Mick officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Arlington, Vt., at the convenience of the family. If friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to either the Vermont Autism Society, the Salvation Army or the Right-to-Life Foundation through the office of MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201. Survivors include a niece, Michelle Sadlowski of Adams, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Larry Rupprecht, and a stepdaughter, Wanda Rousseau.
