Philip Brighenti

Philip Brighenti, 88, of 652 East St. died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Pawling, N.Y., on Aug. 9, 1915, son of Henry and Josaphine Vidavelli Brighenti, he moved to Sheffield as a child and was educated in local schools. He moved to Lee prior to World War II. An Army veteran of World War II, he served from 1942 until 1945 and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He had been employed as a beater operator at the Columbia Mill of the Kimberly-Clark Corp., retiring in 1980. He had also worked at the former Smith Paper Co. His wife, the former Angeline Laurenti, whom he married June 30, 1945, died April 22. He leaves three sons, Thomas P. Brighenti of Pittsfield, David H. Brighenti of Lee and Peter E. Brighenti of Canton, Ga.; a daughter, Jeanne M. Cody of South Lee; a brother, James Brighenti of Wingdale, N.Y.; a sister, Elvera Petersoli of Lee, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Philip Brighenti will be Saturday at 10 at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Lee at which time the cremated remains of his wife will also be interred. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make memorial donations to the Lee Regional Visiting Nurse Association in care of the KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. There will be no visiting hours.
