Stacia J. Ouellette

Stacia J. Ouellette, 94, of Holyoke died Friday, Dec. 19, at Mont Marie Health Care Center. She was the sister of Frank Kurpaska, and had lived in Holyoke for 60 years. Born in Adams on Sept. 15, 1909, daughter of Frank and Anna Lapata Kurpaska, she attended school in Adams. She was formerly employed for many years as a spinner in Adams and also the Skinner and Whiting mills in Holyoke. She was a homemaker, and she liked to make things by hand, such as ceramics, knitting and crocheting. Her husband, Henry E. Ouellette, died on Jan. 17, 1986. Besides her brother of Adams, she leaves one son, Ronald Ouellette of Easthampton; two daughters, Sandra Gosselin of Springfield and Lorraine Berner of Bethesda, Md., and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Stacia J. Kurpaska Ouellette will be Saturday, Dec. 27, at 9:30 from the ARTHUR J. BRUNELLE FUNERAL HOME, 811 Chicopee St., in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 at Holy Family Church in Holyoke. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. A calling hour at the funeral home will begin at 8:30 until the time of the service. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the Sisters of St. Joseph, Development Office, 34 Lower Westfield Rd., Holyoke, MA 01040. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Barbara Ouellette; sons-in-law, Michael Gosselin and Frederic Berner; four grandchildren, Frederic, Jennifer, Christina and Matthew, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Matthew Kurpaska and John Kurpaska, and one sister, Gladys Alibosek.
