Claudette M. Wotkowicz

Claudette M. Wotkowicz, 54, of 15 Enterprise St. died of cancer Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center. She had been there since Dec. 21. Born in Adams on July 2, 1949, daughter of Cauldon "Jake" and Vitaline Remillard Cairns, she attended Adams schools, graduating in 1957 from the former Adams Memorial High School. She later attended Berkshire Community College. Most recently, she worked for Berkshire Home Health Agency as a home care health technician, retiring four years ago because of poor health. Before that, she worked at GE. Her first job was with New England Telephone Co. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Cheshire and a former communicant of Notre Dame Church in Adams. She enjoyed bicycling, cross-country skiing and traveling. She leaves her husband, Chester J. Wotkowicz, whom she married Nov. 15, 1970; a son, Dr. Chad Wotkowicz of Burlington; a daughter, Erica W. Morin of Adams; a sister, Carleen Burler of Cheshire, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A liturgy of Christian Burial for Claudette M. Cairns Wotkowicz will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church at 10, followed by burial in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 at the McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, which is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Claudette Wotkowicz Memorial Fund through the funeral home. Her pride and joy were in being a devoted wife and a beloved mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Lisa Wotkowicz; her son-in-law, David Morin; her brother-in-law, John Butler, and four grandchildren, Jordanne W., Taylor and Connor Wotkowicz and Nash T. Morin.
