Robert James Casuscelli

Robert James Casuscelli, 69, of 134 Meadow St. died Saturday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where he was admitted Jan. 15 following a brief illness. Born in North Adams on Sept. 4, 1934, son of Frank M Casuscelli Sr. and Genevieve E. Anderson Casuscelli, he graduated from Drury High School in 1955. A veteran of the Navy Reserve, he was called to active duty on March 1, 1956, serving with the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga until Dec. 22, 1957. He completed his military service on Jan. 29, 1961. Mr. Casuscelli was employed by Bedard Brothers Auto Sales in Cheshire as a warranty administrator. He retired in April 2001 with more than 19 years of service. Before that, he worked for his father as parts manager at the former Frank's Motor Sales. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the USS Saratoga Association. He was active in Boy Scout programs, serving as assistant scoutmaster and Explorer adviser with the former Troop 5 at the YMCA. He enjoyed reading, walking and searching the Internet. He leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Robert J. Casuscelli will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 10:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., by the Rev. Albert Dagnoli, CCSS. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. The family requests the omission of flowers. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for any charity through the funeral home. Mr. Casuscelli was predeceased by a brother, Frank M. Casuscelli Jr., on Nov. 6, 1993.
