Ralph H. Cleveland

Ralph H. Cleveland, 94, formerly of 4 Columbia St., died Sunday morning at Renaissance Manor Nursing Facility in Westfield, where he had resided for 15 years. Born in Attleboro on June 11, 1909, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Marble Cleveland, he attended schools there. He moved to Manchester, Vt., in his younger years, and later lived in Pittsfield, Lenox, on Cape Cod, in the Canaan and Lebanon, N.Y., area for 15 years, and in Adams for several years. Mr. Cleveland was employed as a service manager for Seven States Bottled Gas, now Tex Gas, in New York, retiring in 1969 after 15 years of service. He and his wife, the former Gladys D. Morgan, celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on Oct. 5. Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Phyllis Goerlach of Berkshire Village, Lauralee Cunningham of Savoy, Gladys Peck of Westfield and Lynne Daughton of Tallahassee, Fla.; three sons, Richard Cleveland of Hillsdale, N.Y., Charles Cleveland of Dalton and Grover Cleveland of Rockville, Conn.; a brother, Benjamin Cleveland of Maine; three sisters, Marjorie Gagnon of Hawthorne, Calif., Doris Cooper of Poland Springs, Maine, and Ella Prouix of Plante City, Fla.; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Ralph H. Cleveland, 94, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. DWYER FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Pilgrim Memorial Church Fuel Fund in care of the funeral home.
