Norman P. Robare, 70

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Norman Philip Robare, 70, of 1100 Mohawk Trail died Monday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield following a long illness. Born in North Adams on May 12, 1933, son of Clarence and Ora Roberts Robare, he attended the former St. Joseph's Grammar and High schools. He also attended St. Albert's Seminary in Middletown, N.Y. Mr. Robare was employed in the buildings and grounds department at Williams College from 1970 until retiring in 1998. Before that, he was employed for 15 years at the former Sprague Electric Co. He also was a professional cake decorator and taught cake decorating at the Northern Berkshire YMCA. A communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church, he was a volunteer at its shrine and active in the church's charismatic movement. He and his wife, the former Martha L. Benoni, were married Sept. 29, 1956, in St. Anthony's Church. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Lisa Marie Robare of Rutland, Vt., and Andrea Jean Robare of North Adams; two sons, Peter Andrew Robare of North Adams and Kevin Michael Robare of Waterford, N.Y.; two sisters, Marjorie Claire Robare and Lois Tessier, both of North Adams, and three grandsons, Steven Robare, Ethan Klensch and Justin Robare. He was predeceased by four brothers, Earl, Donald, Neil and Alfred Robare. FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Norman P. Robare will be conducted Thursday at 9:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, Massachusetts Avenue. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the Ford Foundation at Berkshire Medical Center through the funeral home.
