James F. Louison Jr

James F. Louison Jr., 81, of 82 Lime St. died Sunday in a garage fire at his home. Born in Adams on May 24, 1922, son of James F. Louison Sr. and Ethel Heap Louison, he graduated from the former Adams High School in 1940. An Army veteran of World War II, he enlisted in 1942 and served in the Pacific theater as a corporal with the 369th Battalion Field Artillery Unit. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Louison was employed in the buildings and grounds department of Williams College in Williamstown, retiring in 1987. Prior to that, he worked for the former L.L. Brown Paper Co. as a backtender for 27 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, American Legion Post 160, Elks Lodge 1335 and of the Retired Men's Club in North Adams. He and his wife, the former Stephania Stachura, would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary May 30. Besided his wife, he leaves two brothers, Ralph Louison of North Adams and Donald Louison of Adams, and two sisters, Sidney Del Debbio of North Adams and Marjorie Lesure of Brattleboro, Vt. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for James F. Louison Jr., who died April 25, 2004, will be conducted tomorrow, April 28, at 11 at TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., by the Rev. Michael McCue, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the Adams Fire Department, Alert Hose Company, through the funeral home. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Audrey Scully.
