Kathrine M. O'Brien, 89, of 379 East St. died Friday afternoon at Hillcrest Commons. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 18, 1914, daughter of Patrick and Alice Kelly Londergan, she was a 1932 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She had been a longtime resident of Grove Street. Mrs. O'Brien was employed at one time at the former W.T. Grant's and the former Callahan's Hat Shop. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Family Society. She and her husband, William J. O'Brien Sr., were married Feb. 4, 1935, in St. Mary's Church. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, David L. O'Brien Sr. of Pittsfield; a daughter, Lynne O'Neill-Sebbe of Fort Myers, Fla.; three sisters, Barbara Thompson of Pittsfield, Patricia Marcella of Dalton and Alice Lovaas of College Park, Md., 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Another son, William J. O'Brien Jr., died Jan. 5, 1984. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Kathrine M. O'Brien died in Pittsfield on Friday, April 30, 2004. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 4, at 9:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in St. Mary's Church by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, May 3, from 4 to 7. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Mrs. O'Brien was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Rist and Rita Jacques.
