Marjorie V. Coakley

Marjorie V. Coakley, 98, of 24 Irwin St. died Sunday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center. She moved to Lanesboro 35 years ago after residing in Pittsfield for many years. Born in Pittsfield on July 3, 1905, daughter of Richard James and Margaret Patch Rowe, she was a graduate of the former Pittsfield Central High School. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Coakley was a communicant of St. Charles' Church. Her husband, Richard D. Coakley, whom she married in 1923, died July 21, 1985. She leaves two sons, Robert E. Coakley, with whom she made her home, and John P. Coakley of Brandon, Fla., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Raymond "Mickey" Coakley in 1972 and Richard F. Coakley in 1999. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Marjorie V. Coakley died in Pittsfield on Sunday, May 2. Funeral services will be Friday, May 7, at 10:15 from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Charles' Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Thursday, May 6, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Beloved grandmother to Colleen, Kevin, Timothy, Lynn, Susan and Patricia. Loving great-grandmother to Randy, Christopher, Carolyn, Jenna, Erin, Connor and Sean. Mrs. Coakley also leaves her daughter-in-law, Carol. She was predeceased by daughters-in-law Joan and Kathleen. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the St. Charles Memorial Fund or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, care of the funeral home.
