Irene A. Chittenden

Irene A. Chittenden, 82, of 7 Marshall Ave. died Wednesday at North Adams Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Adams on Jan. 31, 1922, daughter of Frank and Annie Sudacki Sudacki, she was a 1941 graduate of the former Adams High School. A homemaker, she had worked as an inspector at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams in her younger years. Mrs. Chittenden was a communicant of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St.Thomas Aquinas. She and her husband, M. Donald Chittenden, were married May 13, 1944 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, celebrated by the Rev. William H. McAuliffe. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Gregory D. Chittenden of Readsboro, Vt., and a daughter, Maureen Chittenden at home. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Prayer Service in the Roman Catholic Tradition for Irene A. Chittenden will be offered on Saturday, May 8, at 11 in the MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., which is in charge of arrangements. A private visitation period for the family will be from 9 to 10 and public visitation will follow from 10 to 11, prior to the service. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, P.O. Box 231, Adams, MA 01220 or through the funeral home.
