John Stephen Trzpis

John Stephen Trzpis, 76, of 357 Lanesboro Road died Friday afternoon at home after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. Born in Adams on Aug. 19, 1927, son of Stefan and Mary Nowak Trzpis, he was a 1946 graduate of the former Adams High School. A former resident of Waltham, he had lived in Cheshire for seven years. He served in the Army from 1946 to 1948. Mr. Trzpis was employed by the former Eastern Battery Corp. in Framingham for 34 years, retiring when the company ceased operations. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society in Adams. He enjoyed driving his 1954 Corvette, trips to Cape Cod and working on cars. He leaves his nephew, Ignatius J. Wojtaszek Jr., with whom he resided. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for John S. Trzpis will be celebrated Friday, May 14, at 10 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, Pittsfield, or to St. Mary of the Assumption Church through AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, which is in charge of arrangements. He leaves his nephew, Ignatius, and his wife, Diane; another nephew, Daniel A. Trzpis of Adams; three nieces, Susan O'Neill of Adams, and Gail Yates and Patricia Stout, both of Dalton; a sister-in-law, Roma Trzpis of Dalton, and several grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Stephen, Stanley and Joseph Trzpis; a sister, Anna Wojtaszek, and a nephew, Joseph Trzpis.
