David B. Keefner

David B. Keefner, 41, of Child's Lane, Ashley Falls, formerly of Depot Street, Housatonic, died at the scene of an automobile accident in Sheffield on Saturday. Born in Great Barrington on Aug. 20, 1962, son of David Keefner and the late Christine Senk Keefner, he was a1980 graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School. Mr. Keefner was a self-employed painter. He was a former Boy Scout in Great Barrington and a member of the Warner Mountain Boys' Club in Egremont. He enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, hiking, camping and spending time at Umpachene Falls. Besides his father, of Sheffield, he leaves a brother, Daniel Keefner of Keyser, W.Va.; three sisters, Brenda Zampaglione of Litchfield, Conn., and Bonnie Keefner and Gail Wright, both of Housatonic. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for David B. Keefner, who died May 15, 2004, will be conducted Tuesday, May 18, at 4 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Charles A. VanAusdall. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 at the funeral home. He was a loyal brother and friend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Western Massachusetts in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
