Louise M. Longerato

Louise M. Longerato, 81, of Paul Drive died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Great Barrington on June 19, 1922, daughter of Jules and Lucy Voiland Lavalette, she was a graduate of the former Searles High School. She moved to Lee in 1945. Mrs. Longerato was employed as a secretary at the former Hurlbut Paper Co. until 1962. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a charter member of the Berkshire Coin Club. She enjoyed camping and wintering in Florida. Her husband, Fiore Longerato, whom she married July 4, 1945, died Jan. 2. She leaves a stepson, Richard Wheeler of Lee, and two step-grandchildren. Another stepson, Harry J. Wheeler, died in 1983. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Louise M. Longerato, who died May 17, 2004, will be celebrated Wednesday at 12:30 at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 11 to noon at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to the Lee Regional Visiting Nurse Association in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Longerato is survived by her stepgrandchildren Kimberly Wheeler and Richard Wheeler Jr., and by several nieces and nephews.
