Marion Hope Perrier

Marion Hope Perrier, 86, of 2 Horn Place died yesterday at Williamstown Commons, where she had resided since January. Born in Heath on March 4, 1918, daughter of Albert and Marion Louise LaPine Griswold, she came to Adams as a young girl and attended the former Adams High School. A homemaker, she provided child care for several Adams families. Mrs. Perrier was a communicant of Notre Dame/St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus' parishes and a Girl Scout leader for the St. Thomas Girl Scout Troop for many years. She was also an accomplished seamstress. She and her husband, Louis Perrier, would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary July 16. Besides her husband, she leaves five daughters, Mary Lou Rodovick, Phyllis A. LaRocque, Barbara J. Solomon and Carrie P. Brown, all of Adams, and Linda L. Gwozdz of Cheshire; a brother, Franklin Griswold of Cleveland, Tenn.; two sisters, Gladys Pleshaw and Phyllis Griswold, both of Adams; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Shirley Comeau, died in 1972, and two sons, Arthur L. "Perky" Perrier and James F. Perrier, died in 1965 and 1972, respectively. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Marion Hope Griswold Perrier, 86, will be offered Thursday at 10:30 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. A visitation period for family and friends will be observed Wednesday, May 19, from 4 to 7 at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home, which is in charge of arrangements.
