Helen Clairmont

Helen Clairmont, 90, of 1190 Savoy Road died yesterday morning at home. Born in Adams on July 4, 1913, daughter of Maciej and Anna Zatorski Liszka, she resided in New Jersey as a child and attended schools there. She returned to Adams at age 18. She assisted in the operation of Gulf Farm on Savoy Road from 1938 until her retirement several years ago. Mrs. Clairmont was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed nature, gardening, cooking, knitting and crocheting. Her husband, Henry Clairmont, whom she married July 4, 1938, died Dec. 27, 1971. She leaves a son, Edwin H. Clairmont of Cheshire; a daughter, Jeanette Vincelette of North Adams; a brother, Walter Liszka of Adams, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Helen Clairmont will be Saturday, May 29, at 10 from the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame & St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be today from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Springfield, through the funeral home. She leaves five grandchildren, Craig Vincelette and Marsha Williams, both of North Adams, Cheryl LaDouceur of Virginia, Audrey Clairmont of Cheshire and Lisa Clairmont of Framingham, and six great-grandchildren, Jared and Jason Clairmont, Kirby and Connor Williams, all of North Adams, and Jack and Rachael LaDouceur of Virginia. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Liszka, and three sisters, Hazel French, Margaret Greenbush and Stella Belanger.
