Marilyn G. Manley

Marilyn G. Manley, 74, of 12 Grove Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Springfield on Nov. 30, 1929, daughter of Bernard F. and Anna I. Curtain Grady, she attended schools there. She had also lived in Monson for 20 years before moving to the Pittsfield area in 1965. She moved to Lanesboro in 1976. She had been employed as a telephone operator at the original First Agricultural Bank, prior to its becoming Bank of Boston, for 22 years. Mrs. Manley was a member of the YMCA, where she enjoyed swimming. She also enjoyed snowshoeing, cross country skiing and biking. A golfer, she scored two holes-in-one at the Skyline Country Club. She and her husband, Edward L. Manley Jr., would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on July 12. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Gail Senger and Patricia Martin, both of Pittsfield; a son, Edward Manley III of Monson, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Marilyn G. Manley, 74, died Thursday, May 27, 2004. In honoring Mrs. Manley's wishes, all services will be private. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave. Her loving husband and best friend, Eddy, will remember her for her companionship and lifelong devotion to each other. Marilyn leaves her loving grandchildren, Kim McCann, Frank S. Martin III, Steve Senger, Angela Racine, Malinda Manley, Edward "Teddy" Manley, Devin Shea and Nolan Manley; two great-grandchildren, Brianna McCann and Brett Racine; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Manley, and sons-in-law, Frank "Chico" Martin and Larry Shea.
