Florence Margaret Dupre

Florence Margaret Dupre, 85, of Village East, 546 Union St., died Monday at the Laurel Center in Bedford, N.H., following a brief illness. Born in North Adams on Feb. 11, 1919, daughter of Felix and Alice McCarthy Andrews, she was educated in North Adams schools, including Drury High School. Mrs. Dupre was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1981. She first worked for the former Gale Shoe Co. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and was a member of the Sprague Quarter Century and Retirees' clubs. She enjoyed reading and crafts, including knitting and crocheting. Her husband, Ernest Clifford Dupre, whom she married Sept. 21, 1940, in St. Francis' Church, died Aug. 31, 1996. She leaves a son, Michael Ernest Dupre; a sister, Claire Andognini of Lake Mary, Fla., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Florence Dupre, who died May 31, 2004, will be Saturday, June 5, at 8:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, June 4, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the St. Francis' Building Fund through the funeral home. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Frances; four grandchildren, Melinda E. Dupre, Michael E. Dupre, Marc E. Dupre and Matthew E. Dupre, and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Dupre, Ethan Dupre and Michael Joseph Dupre. She was predeceased by sisters Alice Vasseur and Catherine Field and brothers Robert Andrews, William Andrews, John Andrews and Felix Andrews Jr.
