Corrine Smith

Corrine Smith, 89, of Great Barrington Road died yesterday at Fairview Hospital. Born in the family home in West Stockbridge on Nov. 3, 1914, daughter of Antonio and Antoinette Veronesi Consolini, she attended schools there and the former Williams High School in Stockbridge. Mrs. Smith was employed by Dr. William E. Persing from 1933 to 1949 and worked as a home health care aide for several families in Stockbridge. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years, and a former member of the West Stockbridge Grange. She and her husband, Raymond K. Smith Sr., were married Oct. 21, 1944, at St. Patrick's Church. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Raymond K. Smith Jr. of Dalton; a sister, Rose Balestro of West Stockbridge, and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Family and friends of Corrine Consolini Smith, who died June 6, 2004, are invited to a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 9, at 10 at St. Patrick's Church celebrated by the Rev. Stephen McGuigan, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will receive friends tomorrow, June 8, from 4 to 7 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. Mrs. Smith also leaves her daughter-in-law, Gail Smith, and two grandchildren, Shawn and Amber. Flowers are welcome, but those who desire may make a contribution in Mrs. Smith's memory to Timberlyn Heights Nursing Home Alzheimer's Unit through the funeral home, 426 Main St. Remembrances, memories and reflections may be sent to the family through www.finnertyandstevens.com. She was predeceased by four brothers, Julian, Anthony, Chester and Joseph Consolini, and by three sisters, Mary Burns, Lena Sartori and Elizabeth Vanetti.
