Pauline Jeannette LaBonte

Pauline Jeannette LaBonte, 79, of 308 West Shaft Road died yesterday morning at home. Born in North Adams on Aug. 1, 1924, daughter of William H. and Mary P. LaFlam Jandran, she graduated from the commercial program at the former Notre Dame School. Mrs. LaBonte was employed by the Visiting Nurse Association in Williamstown as a home health-care aide, retiring in 1981. She also worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. during World War II and at North Adams Regional Hospital as a clinical assistant. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church, a life member of Dr. George L. Curran Post 996 VFW Ladies' Auxiliary and a member of VOSA. She was the first president of the parents' association at the former East School, now Sullivan School, and was active with Boy Scout Troop 104. Her husband, Henry Joseph LaBonte Sr., whom she married Oct. 22, 1945, in Notre Dame Church, died May 20. She leaves two daughters, Paula Eastwood and Ellen Chilson, both of North Adams; four sons, Gary LaBonte of Adams, James LaBonte and Alan LaBonte, both of North Adams, and Phillip LaBonte of Orlando, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Another son, Henry J. LaBonte Jr., died in August 1983 and another daughter, Ann M. Sheldon, on Nov. 29, 1996. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Pauline Jeannette Jandran LaBonte will be Friday at 8:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Cancer Society through the funeral home. Survivors include four daughters-in-law, Lynn LaBonte, Linda LaBonte, Carman LaBonte and Diane Duquette, and two sons-in-law, William Chilson and Robert Eastwood. She was predeceased by a son Henry J. LaBonte Jr.; a daughter, Ann M. Sheldon; five brothers, Nelson, Louis, William and Edward Jandran and Victor Gendron, and by three sisters, Sylvia Jennings, Ada St. Pierre and Ida Bachand.
