Shirley Ann Scarbo, 76, of 110 Bradley St. died Wednesday at La Vida Serena Nursing Home in Del Rio, Texas. Born in North Adams on June 22, 1927, daughter of William and Florence Moir Jennings, she was educated in local schools and graduated from Drury High School. She was last employed as a salesclerk at the former Roberts Co. clothing store on Main Street in North Adams until her retirement. Before that, she was employed at the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church, where she helped at its annual bazaar. She also enjoyed reading and dancing. Her husband, George Edward Scarbo, whom she married June 4, 1947, in the former Incarnation Church in North Adams, died July 12, 1999. She leaves a son, David B. Scarbo of Del Rio; two sisters, Nancy Benoit of North Adams and Bonnie Bloomingdale of North Hampton, Pa.; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Shirley Ann Scarbo, who died June 9, 2004, will be Wednesday, June 16, at 9:45 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 at St. Anthony's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor. Burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4 to 7. The Rosary will be recited at 6. Memorial donations may be made to VNA-Hospice of North Berkshire in care of the funeral home. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Estela Scarbo; a brother-in-law, William Bloomingdale; three grandchildren, Aprile Scarbo, Erica Schifferns and Andrew Scarbo, and one great-grandson, Matthew Schifferns. A brother, Paul Jennings, is deceased.
