Evelyn Mae Maxwell, 86, formerly of Housatonic, died on Monday afternoon at Laurel Hill Nursing Home in Winsted, Conn., where she had been a resident since 1998. Born in Housatonic on July 23, 1917, daughter of Frederick and Rose Russell Linsky, she attended the former Searles High School. She enjoyed traveling, especially going on road trips with her family. Her husband, Claude Maxwell, whom she married on March 10, 1946, in Housatonic, died in 1969. She leaves a daughter, Barbara Doty of Winsted, and a brother, Wayne Linsky of Hudson, N.Y. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Evelyn Mae Maxwell, who died June 21, 2004, will be Saturday, June 26, at 3 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. A private burial will be held at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jehovah's Witnesses in Brooklyn, N.Y., through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
