Polly A. Williams

Polly A. Williams, 78, of Summer Street died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Great Barrington on Oct. 9, 1925, daughter of Harold E. and Elsie Humphrey Potter, she was a 1942 graduate of the former Searles High School. She was also a graduate of Cooley Dickinson Hospital's nursing program in Northampton. A homemaker, she worked as a nurse for several years prior to her marriage in 1950. She and her husband, Edwin F. Williams Sr., were married Aug. 18, 1950. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Edwin F. Williams Jr. of Freemont, N.H., John F. Williams of Pittsfield and Ronald Williams of Lanesboro; two daughters, Bonnie Hall of Crestview, Fla., and Deborah Miller of Hurst, Texas, 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two other sons, Mark Williams and Donald Williams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Polly A. Williams will be Saturday at noon at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Dr. Peter Boehringer, pastor of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Calling hours will be from 10 to noon on the day of the funeral. Following cremation, burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. The WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 is in charge of arrangements.
