Yvonne Marie Leonesio

Yvonne Marie Leonesio, 81, of 122 Marion Ave. died Wednesday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Tuesday after being stricken earlier at home. Born in Adams on April 18, 1923, daughter of Fred and Rosalie Plante DuBois, she was educated in Cheshire schools and moved to Canada at age 6. After her family returned to the United States, she attended schools in Colrain and in Williamstown, including the former Williamstown High School. Mrs. Leonesio was employed in the food services department of the former North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, for 33 years. She also worked at the former F.W. Woolworth store, the former Peggy Parker ladies' apparel store and the former Sprague Electric Co. She was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of its bazaar committee, and a former member of its Rosary Sodality. She and her husband, Thomas P. Leonesio, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary June 14. They were married in St. Raphael's Church in Williamstown. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Gail Boyer of North Adams; two sisters, Albea "Blanche" Martin of Turners Falls and Bernadette Wesso of Greenfield, and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Yvonne Leonesio will be tomorrow, July 10, 2004, at 9:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel O'Hear, pastor. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Friday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. The omission of flowers is requested. Donations in her memory are suggested for St. Anthony of Padua Church or any charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home. Survivors include a son-in-law, Michael Boyer of North Adams, and grandchildren, Tracey Lynn Boyer of Leland, N.C., and Matthew Thomas Boyer of Boston. She was predeceased by sisters and brothers, Rose Gaines, Theresa Hardwood, and Albert and Alfred DuBois.
