Nancy Fabian

Nancy Fabian, 87, of Stilson Ave., Florence, died Thursday at Cooley-Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. She was the mother of Richard J. Fabian of Great Barrington. Born in Sayreville, N.J., on Oct. 30, 1916, daughter of Tadeu and Eva Warchollak, she moved with her parents to Poland and returned to the United States just prior to World War II. She was educated in Poland and in New York City. She lived in New Jersey, North Carolina and Springfield, Mass., before moving to Florence to live with her daughter in 1993. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Her husband, Joseph P. Fabian, died in 1994. They had been married 50 years. Besides her son, she leaves a daughter, Susan Rice of Florence; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Joan Whittle, died Dec. 5, 1981. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Nancy Warchollak Fabian, who died July 15, 2004, will be private. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. PEASE FUNERAL HOME of Northampton is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribuions may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
