Theodore Clark Rogers

Theodore Clark Rogers, 54, of Gage Street died Tuesday at home after a long illness. Born in Bennington on April 9, 1950, son of Ralph R. Rogers Sr. and Florence Clark Rogers, he attended schools in Bennington. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he served from 1969 to 1972. In 1970, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism. Mr. Rogers was employed by Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury from 1972 until the plant closed in 2001. He also was employed for a brief time by Mount Anthony Union Middle School. He enjoyed hunting and, in earlier years, playing pool. He and his wife, the former Sally Ann Weeks, were married June 3, 1969, in Cambridge, N.Y. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Stephanie Rogers Gauthier of Pownal, and twins Penelope Grace of Bennington and Kimberly Trova of Pittsfield, Mass.; two sons, T-Jay Rogers and Aaron Rogers, both of Bennington; five brothers, Ralph R. Rogers Jr., William Rogers, Roy Rogers and Donald Rogers, all of Bennington, and Robert R. Rogers of Troy, N.Y.; four sisters, Patricia Ogilvie and Joan Morse, both of Bennington, Danielle Cornell of Shaftsbury and Susan Bushway of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Theodore C. "Ted" Rogers, who died July 20, 2004, will be conducted today, July 22, at 2 at MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Michael Demasi. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 1 to 2. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Area Home Health Hospice through the funeral home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201. He also leaves sons-in-law, Paul Trova of Pittsfield, and Patrick Grace and Dane Gauthier; four grandchildren, Meghann and Brian Grace of Bennington, and Sara and Nicole Trova of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette Damon, and four brothers, James, George, Francis and Thomas Rogers.
