Shirley J. Soules, 66, of 17 Glendale Road, Glendale, died Saturday at home. Born in Austerlitz, N.Y., on Jan. 8, 1938, daughter of Harry and Edythe Campbell Coons, she was educated in Austerlitz and Chatham, N.Y., schools. She moved to Housatonic in the 1950s and to Glendale in 1998. She worked at the former Av-alon School in Monterey and at Brookside School in Great Barrington. Mrs. Soules was president of the Glendale Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. She leaves two sons, James O. Soules of Housatonic and Peter E. Soules Sr. of Sheffield; two brothers, Edward Coons of East Chatham, N.Y., and William Coons of Great Barrington; a sister, Carol Ganson of Kinderhook, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE-- The funeral for Shirley J. Soules, 66, of Glendale will be conducted Friday at 5 at Old Parish Church in Sheffield by the Rev. Art Kaufman, pastor. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to Old Parish Church. KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee is in charge of arrangements. She was predeceased by a brother, Harry Coons.
