Thomas P. Lyons

Thomas P. Lyons, 73, of 32 Spring St. died Wednesday evening at home. Born in Lee on July 1, 1931, son of Thomas P. and Nora O'Brien Lyons, he moved to Cheshire as a child and attended schools there. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Lyons was employed by the former Adams Super Markets as a supervisor in the meat department for 35 years and by Big Y supermarket as meat manager for 10 years. He retired in 1994. He was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and St. Stanislaus' Church. A Red Sox fan, he also enjoyed gardening. He and his wife, the former Laurette Levesque, were married Nov. 27, 1952. Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Sandra Talora of Ches-hire, and Sharon Filiault, Mary Rochelo and Michelle Lyons Ostaski, all of Adams; a brother, John Lyons of Adams; two sisters, Helen Dargie and Anna Farnum, both of Cheshire, and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by another daughter, Margaret Dupras. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Thomas P. Lyons will be Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon at Notre Dame Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Friday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer or the Notre Dame Church Renovation Fund through the funeral home. He leaves his grandchildren, Michael and Samantha Talora, Patrick, Jennifer and Jeffrey Filiault, and Alexandra, Alycia and Jonathan Rochelo; four sons-in-law, Frank Talora, Jeffrey Filiault, David Ostaski and Gerald Rochelo, and his dogs, Sydney and Sadie Ostaski. A brother, Philip Lyons, is deceased.
