Anna L. Gray

Anna L. Gray, 93, of East Street died yesterday morning at home. Born in Stanford, N.Y., on May 13, 1911, daughter of Richard P. and Margaret Thiem Canfield, she was a 1928 graduate of Stanford High School and received her teaching degree from Oneonta (N.Y.) Normal School. Mrs. Gray was employed by the former Frank Pinder & Sons, an auto dealership in Grand Gorge, N.Y., as a bookkeeper, retiring with more than 30 years of service. She moved to Lenox in November 2002. Her husband, Leland "Peter" Gray, whom she married in 1949, died March 3, 1977. She leaves two sisters, Bessie Murphy and Marion Brace, both of Lenox, and her grandniece, Nancy Allen Hanson, with whom she made her home. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Anna L. Gray will be conducted Thursday at 10 at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox by the Rev. Eric Dupee, pastor of United Methodist Church of Lenox. Burial will follow in Stanford (N.Y.) Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to the Lee Regional Visiting Nurse in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. She is also survived by her niece, Margaret Allen of Lenox; grandnephew, Steven Allen; great-grandnieces, Julia Hanson and Melanie Allen, and great-grandnephew, Connor Hanson.
