Dorothy Christine Frieri

Dorothy Christine Frieri, 71, of 180 Orchard St. died Thursday at North Adams Regional Hospital following a short illness. Born in Adams on Nov. 27, 1932, daughter of Henry and Celia Pliszka Kolodziej, she attended Adams schools. Mrs. Frieri was a homemaker all of her life. She especially enjoyed gardening, quilting and crafts. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and a member of the former Polish Women's Club. She leaves her husband of 54 years, Ralph J. Frieri, whom she married Nov. 25, 1950; two sons, Dennis Frieri and Steven Frieri, both of Adams; three brothers, Robert Kolodziej of Oakdale, Conn.; Frederick Kolodziej of Easthampton and Raymond Kolodziej of Pittsfield; a sister, Loretta Rysz-Vinette of Adams, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 11, at 9 a.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital through the funeral home. She also leaves two daughters-in-law, Darlene and Gay Frieri of Adams; four grandchildren, Shannon, Krystal, Tristan and Travis Frieri, all of Adams, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A brother, Charles Kolodziej, was killed in action during World War II on Sept. 24, 1944.
