Marjorie P. Lancaster

Marjorie P. Lancaster, 96, of Port Jervis, N.Y., died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Place. Born in Hancock on Dec. 18, 1907, daughter of Allen and Bessie Ostrander Phelps, she was a graduate of New Lebanon (N.Y.) Central High School and the former Pittsfield General Hospital, where she earned a nursing degree in 1927. She retired from nursing at age 85 from the Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth in Canaan, N.Y. She was a member of the Congregational Church in New Lebanon, past matron of the Order of Eastern Star in New Lebanon and a former member of the Women's Club and Seniors' Group of New Lebanon. She leaves a son, Allen Lasch of Shohola, Pa.; a sister, Mercedes Schillinger of Murells Inlet, S.C., three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services and burial will be held Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 at 1 at the Cemetery of the Evergreens in New Lebanon.
