Cecile Pamela White

Cecile Pamela White, 79, of 42 Kinnicutt Road, Worcester, died yesterday afternoon at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, where she had been admitted 10 days ago. Born in North Adams on Sept. 26, 1925, daughter of Jack and Ida Lenhoff Goldberg, she was a 1943 graduate of Drury High School. She also graduated from Boston University in 1947. She and her husband, Jacob A. White, operated the White department stores for many years. Following his death in 1991, she continued to operate the business. Mrs. White was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in North Adams and Congregation Beth Israel in Worcester. She was a lifelong member of Hadassah. Her husband, whom she married Jan. 1, 1950, died June 15, 1991. She leaves a daughter, Mira L. Mastroianni of North Adams; a son, Marc D. White of Worcester; a brother, Dr. Elliott Marshall Goldberg of Philadelphia, and a granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Cecile Pamela (Goldberg) White will take place Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at noon at Congregation Beth Israel, 53 Lois St., North Adams with Rabbi Jeffrey Goldwasser, spiritual leader, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Beth Israel Cemetery in Clarksburg. Memorial donations may be made to Hadassah in care of the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., which is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include a son-in-law, Leo Mastroianni, and a daughter-in-law, Diane White, and one granddaughter, Lea Fay White of Worcester. A sister, Dr. Toby Goldberg Ph.D., died August 1984.
