Francis N. Ramer

Francis N. Ramer, 74, of 74 Lanesboro Road, Cheshire, a native and longtime resident of 3 Quaker St., died Thursday morning at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on Dec. 17, 1929, son of Henry and Mary Tomkiewicz Ramer, he was a 1947 graduate of the former Adams High School. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on Aug. 7, 1951, serving with the 1st Marine Division as a tank mechanic. He was discharged Aug. 6, 1953, with the rank of corporal. Mr. Ramer was employed by GE as an electrician from 1953 until retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Cheshire and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and Local 255 IUE/AFL. He was also a member of the Cheshire Rod & Gun Club. He leaves a son, David J. Ramer of Watertown, Conn.; a daughter, Lynne M. Ramer of Framingham, Conn.; a brother, Chester H. Ramer of Adams, and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Reading of Scripture for Funerals for Francis N. Ramer will be said tomorrow, Nov. 7, at 4:30 at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 4 Liberty St., Adams. A visitation period will be offered tomorrow from 3 to 5. Following cremation, an inurnment service will take place at a date to be advised.
