Helena Rose Chalifoux

Helena Rose Chalifoux, 86, of Village East, 546 Union St., died Saturday evening at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in Adams on Jan. 26, 1918, daughter of Elphege and Rose Cyr Adam, she attended schools there and in North Adams, where she completed the commercial course at the former Notre Dame School. A homemaker, Mrs. Chalifoux was employed by the former Hunter Outdoor Products for a few years. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and spent 58 years at her family cottage at Windsor Pond in Windsor. Her husband, Alfred William Chalifoux, whom she married in 1942, died Oct. 1, 1968. She leaves two sons, Charles "Chip" Chalifoux of Pittsfield and Brian Chalifoux of Fort Wayne, Ind., and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Helena Rose Chalifoux, who died Nov. 20, 2004, will be celebrated tomorrow, Nov. 23, at 10 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, will be tomorrow morning from 8:30 to 9:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Susan Chalifoux and Carol Chalifoux; three grandchildren, Laurie, Jennifer and Brian Chalifoux, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Roma Johnson in 1999 and Gertrude Bressett on Oct. 2.
