Alfred Antoine "Boy" Chouinard

Alfred Antoine "Boy" Chouinard, 85, of 24 Kateley Lane died Saturday night at Williamstown Commons. Born in North Adams on July 7, 1919, son of Joseph A. and Arthemise Stringer Chouinard, he attended the former Notre Dame School. Mr. Chouinard was employed as a mill carrier at the former Hoosac Cotton Mills for more than 30 years, retiring in 1981 when it closed. He was a longtime communicant of Notre Dame Church and, later, of Our Lady of Mercy Church. He was a member of the Union St. Jean Baptiste Council Leduc and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 310. A longtime fan of the Red Sox, he also enjoyed watching wrestling matches on television. He leaves a sister, Rita Kateley of North Adams, with whom he resided. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Alfred Chouinard will be tomorrow, Nov. 30, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:30 at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, Massachusetts Avenue, followed by burial in the family plot at Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from noon to 1 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for Our Lady of Mercy Church through the funeral home. Survivors include two godchildren, Gary Reeves of Stockbridge, Ga., and Aubree Gageant of North Adams. He was predeceased by two sisters, Agnes Chretien and Valeda Caza, and by four brothers, Arthur, Armand, Alphonse and Albert Chouinard.
