Emily Macek

Emily Macek, 86, of 97 Summer St. died Sunday morning at Williamstown Commons, where she was admitted Nov. 9. Born in North Adams on Nov. 25, 1918, daughter of Stanislaus and Victoria Mazur Kolodziej, her family moved to Adams when she was 5 and she attended local schools. Mrs. Macek was employed for 20 years by the former Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown, retiring in 1983. She also worked as a spinner at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates for 39 years. She was a communicant of the St. Stanislaus' Church. Her husband, Walter Macek, whom she married Sept. 5, 1959, died Jan. 24, 1987. She leaves a sister, Franciska Laurila of Milwaukee, and a cousin, Charlotte Kaszyk of Adams, with whom she made her home. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Emily Macek, who died Nov. 28, 2004, will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 2, at 10 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs-St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 8:30 until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus' School through the funeral home. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Her sisters Anna and Stacia Kolodziej are deceased.
