Frank Everett Rice Jr

Frank Everett Rice Jr., 39, of 205 Ashmere Road died early Monday morning on Old Windsor Road from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Pittsfield on May 26, 1965, son of Frank E. Rice Sr. of West Stockbridge and Mary A. Collins Riceof Hinsdale, he attended schools in Hinsdale and Dalton and was a 1983 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School. Mr. Rice had been the founder and proprietor of Rice Transport Inc. of Pittsfield since 1984. He was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church. He was a member of the Northeast Tough Truck Racing Circuit, where he ranked 17th. His truck was known as "Twister." He enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, jet skiing and making RC Model race cars. Besides his parents, he leaves a daughter, Stephanie N. Rice of Hinsdale; a son, Nicholas E. Rice of Hinsdale; his stepfather, Edwin R. Sanders of Hinsdale; two sisters, Amanda L. Rice of Hamden, Conn., and Anita McMahon of Salisbury; two brothers, Adam Rice and Brian Rice, both of West Stockbridge, and three stepsisters, Debra Carty of Concord, N.H., Doreen Fahey of Avon, Conn., and Denise Turrell of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Frank E. Rice Jr. died Nov. 29, 2004. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 at St. Agnes' Church in Dalton by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Hinsdale. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 895 East Main St., Dalton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to establish an education fund for his children in care of the Pittsfield Co-operative Bank, 488 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226. Checks for the fund may be made payable to his mother, Mary Rice. Frank also is lovingly survived by his companion and best friend, Alison Wendling of Hinsdale, and her children, Courtney and Jessica Wendling. He was predeceased by a sister, Jessica Lynn Rice in 1967, and by his beloved maternal grandparents, Bernard and Beatrice Collins. Frank, who loved spending time with his children, will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
