James Richard Moore

James Richard Moore, 75, of 1684 Norfolk Ave., The Villages, Fla., formerly of Sheffield, died Saturday at The Villages Hospice House. Born in Cazenovia, N.Y., on Feb. 4, 1929, son of Walter S. and Katherine Dady Moore, he was educated in schools there. Mr. Moore was the founding headmaster of LaLumiere in LaPorte, Ind., and a former headmaster of Berkshire School. Earlier, he was employed as a teacher and coach at Mount Canterbury School in New Milford, Conn. He was an author and poet and enjoyed playing bridge and golf. He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Cooper; two sons, David S. Moore of Winfield, Ill., and Christopher C. Moore of Wilbraham; two daughters, Lisa M. Edwards of Cumberland, Va., and Deborah L. Hughes of St. Albans, Vt.; two brothers, Walter S. Moore Jr. of Cazenovia and Dr. Roger D. Moore of Clinton, N.Y.; two sisters, Jeanne Cordts of Frostburg, Md., and Helen Breitbeck of Oswego, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Christian Burial for James Richard Moore, who died Dec. 4, 2004, will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Timothy's Church by the Rev. Michael Sullivan. Family and friends may call at BEYERS FUNERAL HOME, 134 North Highway, Lady Lake, Fla., today, Dec. 6, 2004, from 4 to 6. A wake service will be held today at 5:30. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Villages Hospice House, P.O. Box 280, Lady Lake, FL 32158.
