Florence A. Sanguinette

Florence A. Sanguinette, 93, of 17 West St. died Sunday morning at Sweet Brook Care Centers, where she had resided since 1997. Born in Adams on Nov. 18, 1911, daughter of Felix and Sarah Mochon Hebert, she was a 1929 graduate of the former Adams High School. Mrs. Sanguinette and her husband, Leon Sanguinette, owned and operated the former Sanguinette Roofing Co. for many years. She was named to "Who's Who of American Women" as the first woman roofer of record in the United States. She also worked at the former Brightwater Paper Co. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of its Ladies of St. Anne. She was a co-founder and charter member of the Adams Ambulance Service. Her husband, whom she married July 29, 1930, died May 1989. She leaves her nephew and caretaker, Peter A. Coussoule of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Florence A. Sanguinette will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 9, at 10 at Notre Dame des Septe Douleurs Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery. The family will meet friends Thursday from 8:30 until the time of the prayer service at 9:15 at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Adams Ambulance Service and Notre Dame Church through the funeral home, 6 Liberty St., Adams, MA 01225. She leaves another nephew, John P. Coussoule of Windermere, Fla. A sister, Cesarina Coussoule, died Dec. 30, 1998.
