Aline F. Mandeville

Aline F. Mandeville, 74, of 3 Myrtle St. died Saturday morning at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in Adams on Feb. 26, 1930, daughter of Lawrence and Alida Clermont Mandeville, she attended Adams schools. Ms. Mandeville was director of the former Adams Community Action Council until 1979. She also worked as a secretary for Dr. Philip Mayo, retiring in 1973. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas. She was most recently involved with the Adams Adult Senior Program through the Council on Aging. In 1971, she organized the first hot lunch program for seniors in Northern Berkshire through the Adams-Cheshire School District and organized the Adams Senior Citizens group. She was a former president of Barrett House Corp., former chairman of the Adams Nutrition Site Council and ran for representative of the 1st District of the state Silver-Haired Legislature. She leaves two daughters, Pamela Fortini of North Adams and Katherine Raschdorf of Adams; a brother, Henery Mandeville of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Aline F. Mandeville, who died Dec. 18, 2004, will be Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 9 from TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in Notre Dame Church, Adams, by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus Kostka in Adams. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to the Adams Adult Senior Program through the funeral home. Survivors include two grandchildren, Michelle Raymond of North Carolina and Richard Mandeville of Adams; a great-grandchild, Tylor Mandeville, and several nieces and nephews.
