Regina M. Marquis

Regina M. Marquis, 76, of 184 Lenox Ave. died Friday morning at home. Born in Waterville, Maine, on Jan. 14, 1928, daughter of Alphonse and Mary Duby Rancourt, she was 6 when her family moved to Pittsfield. She graduated in 1946 from St. Joseph's High School. Mrs. Marquis was a self-employed real estate broker. Earlier, she had been employed by the former A.H. Rice Silk Mill and by the former Eaton Paper Co. She also videotaped weddings. A talented seamstress, she was also a Red Sox fan and enjoyed cooking. She and her husband, Emil H. Marquis, were married April 11, 1953, in Notre Dame Church. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Richard A. Marquis of Pittsfield; two daughters, Cheryl A. Mendocha and Cathy A. Marquis, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Cecelia McDermott of Pittsfield, and five grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Regina M. Marquis died in Pittsfield on Friday, Dec. 24, 2004. Beloved mother-in-law to Joel S. Mendocha and Teresa R. Marquis, cherished grandmother to Matthew and Courtney Mendocha and Scott, Sophia and Samuel Marquis. She was predeceased by a sister, Viola Rancourt, in 1990. The funeral will be Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 9:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Dec. 28, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
